I work according to the mother tongue principle; I translate texts from English or French into Dutch. In doing so, I look at the meaning and message of the source text. I convert these where possible into a text that reads like an original Dutch text rather than a translation.

Do you have a text that has been translated by someone else and do you want another language professional to have a look at it with a fresh, but critical eye? That's a service I provide too. I check whether the meaning of the source text has been transferred properly and whether the translation fits in well with the target group. If necessary, I correct language and style errors.

Sometimes it is good to have a 'second pair of eyes'. To have a person take a professional look at your document and to make improvements to it where necessary. Apart from the content, I also check the layout, consistency and context of the text and the document during proofreading.
